Hi! My name is Sue but you can call me Sushi!
As a child I spent a lot of time with my mother learning to sew. My love for crafting began at an early age because of her. My mother taught me to sew when I was 5. I even had my own little sewing machine! She even has a pic of me wearing the outfit I made. I remember doing it all on my own but I’m sure she did most of the work!
I learned to embroider when I was 12 from one of my friend’s mothers. She taught a group of us at her kitchen table in the summer. We’d all go over sleepy eyed right after breakfast and spend the morning learning how to chain stitch and make daisy chains!
My love for ribbons and trims didn’t hit me until I was all grown up! My first project was a pillow that I made weaving ribbons and sewing together. My mother has that pillow in her guest room! Since then I have evolved my ribbon craft into so much more! I love ribbons. I don’t mean just love… it’s an obsession.
This is my first blog. I’m kind of nervous and excited. Mostly it’s excitement! I can’t wait to share with you my thoughts, ideas, and inspirations. Maybe even give you some inspiration for your crafting, and of course, make a few friends along the way!
I’m opening a shop on Etsy in June! I’m really excited to get started.
